"We've never been to Loch Ness: Where should we go for our elopement?"

Well, thanks to the length of Loch Ness, all 26 Miles of it, you have a huge area to choose from.
Having grown up in the nearbye village of Drumnadrochit I can help with locations.

Here are just some suggestions.

Dores Beach

Situated on the East shore of Loch Ness, Dores Beach is a great location for your Loch Ness elopement.

It has as you would imagine, a beach, but it also has a Scots Pine Forest at the far end of the beach which is handy if the Highland weather is proving too wild.

There’s also The Dores Inn right next to the beach which has a carpark, public amenities as well as a cosey Bar and Restaurant. They also cater for outdoor events if you planned bringing more than just yourselves.

Urquhart Castle

One of the most iconic castles in Scotland, Urquhart Castle has it all.

Perched above Loch Ness, it has substantial grassland and ruin sights within its grounds. There are some great vantage points to the right of the castle where when positioned you could have the castle and Loch Ness behind you.

Whilst this is undoubtedly a fantastic location for your Loch Ness elopement, it is however very popular. As tourists flock from all over the World to visit the castle, especially in the peak Summer months and Holidays, it may be difficult to have seclusion. That said, the castle do offer ‘out of hours’ visits so if you don’t mind paying that little bit extra, you could have Urquhart Castle all to yourselves!

Fort Augustus

Located at the opposite end of Loch Ness sits the charming village of Fort Augustus.

With hotels, bars and shops Fort Augustus is the most populated of the nearbye villages on the shores of Loch Ness.

There are lots of elopement spots within a short walk of the village including the shores of Loch Ness with expansive views eastwards towards Inverness.

The Caledonian Canal flows through the village and is another great spot to capture some lovely shots of you both.

Other locations around Loch Ness

As mentioned, Loch Ness covers a pretty expansive area with 60-odd miles of shoreline.

This means finding a secluded spot in the Summer isn’t too difficult; There are plenty gravel beaches on the shores of Loch Ness that are easily accessible from the roadside. Whilst here there are other spots that could be worth a quick stop-off for some photos including waterfalls and old rickety bridges.

There are also alternative locations that sit above the Loch looking down which give a far larger elevated view of the Loch whilst still remaining exceptionally scenic.

The possibilities in and around Loch Ness really are endless.

How Andy works to give you the best elopement photography experience..

When you book me as your photographer, you’re not just getting stunning images—you’re gaining a trusted partner who will be there every step of the way. I’ll make your day as seamless and special as possible.

Here’s a rough run down of how Andy will work with you..

Initial Enquiry Zoom Call

We’ll start with a friendly Zoom call to go over all the details—your plans, locations, style preferences, and any special moments you want captured. This ensures I’m fully aligned with your vision for the day. It also gives you the chance to meet me so to speak ahead of making any decisions and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions surrounding your Highland elopement plans and dreams.

Itinerary

Once we’ve established what sort of elopement you and your partner would like I will then create a rough itinerary of how the experience will take shape.

This will include locations, timings and some suggestions of where to start and what to do. Itineraries are really important so that you both know what to expect. This will be completely editable so you will have the chance to ammend anything that you want. Once you’re happy with the plan it will then be a case of paying a deposit to secure the date and my services.

Meeting & Transportation

On your big day, I’ll arrange to meet you at a location that works for you, whether it’s your accommodation, a scenic spot, or somewhere meaningful to you both. I can also drive you to your ceremony location or shuttle you to different spots throughout the day if you’re looking to do a few photo sessions at various locations. Just let me know if you’d like transportation included in your quote.

Flexible Session Lengths

I offer 1.5-hour, 3-hour, and 5-hour packages, but I’m also happy to customize your session to meet your needs. If you want to extend your time with me for more coverage, we can easily arrange that too!

Sneak Peek Highlights

You won’t have to wait long to see the magic! A few days after your shoot, I’ll send you a small selection of taster highlights from the day, giving you an exciting preview of the full collection.

Final Edited Photos

Depending on the time of year an how busy I am, you can expect to receive a professionally edited gallery with all your stunning images, ready for you to enjoy and share within around 6-8 weeks from your elopement date.

Copyright & Sharing

You’ll share the copyright of the photos, meaning you can print, use, and display them however you like, without any restrictions other than the images can’t be used for commercial purposes unless discussed in advance.

Online Gallery & Built-In Store

You’ll receive a personalized online gallery where you can download your images, share them with friends and family, and even order prints directly through the gallery’s built-in store.
