Jade and Donald got in touch to ask if I would cover their Drumossie Hotel Wedding Photography. Ofcourse I was more than happy to oblige.
Jade’s morning preparations
Things got started at Jade’s parent’s house in Milton of Leys overlooking the Highland capital. Spirits were high and the drinks were flowing whilst Donald and the lads chilled out at Donald’s house.
Jade’s father was overseeing the preparations whilst arranging flower deliveries etc to the Hotel. The Mother of the Bride Nicola was enjoying some pre-wedding fizz along with the girls as the hair & makeup was being applied.
Over to the Drumossie Hotel for final touches
With everything going to schedule, it was time for Jade and the girls to head to their room at the Drumossie Hotel for final touches and getting the wedding dress on. The mood was still fairly relaxed despite some last minute complications surrounding deliveries to the Hotel. Scott, father of the bride was on it though to ensure Jade had nothing to stress about.
The drinks continued to flow as guests began to arrive at the hotel. Jade and her Mum and bridesmaids wanted to get some shots of them on the bed before getting the dress on.
Once the dress was on Jade’s father and brother gathered at the bottom of the stairs at the Drumossie Hotel for the dress reveal. The look on Scott, Father of the bride’s face was priceless. So was the reaction from Jade’s younger brother who was looking emotional.
Groom gathers for Drumossie Hotel Wedding Photography shots
Whilst final touches were being to the dress, Donald and his groomsmen gathered outside for some photos. The sun was shining which made it perfect for capturing some Drumossie Hotel Wedding Photography.
Donald was pretty chilled out about it all. He’s a pretty laid back guy it has to be said which made things easier for the photographs that’s for sure.
The Drumossie Hotel Wedding ceremony
Donald stood patiently at the window awaiting the bridal arrival. There was a slight surprise in store for him though. Instead of a flower girl or flower boy, there was a flower man. Jade’s cousin appeared at the doorway with petals in hand much to the surprise of the on looking guests. It was a great addition to the day and lightened the mood ahead of the main event.
Finally after some laughter and the bridal entrances, the wedding ceremony was under way at Drumossie Hotel. Before long the “I do’s” were done and it was official, Mr & Mrs Ball were a thing.
Time for celebrations at the Drumossie Hotel Wedding
Time to celebrate Jade and Donald’s marriage with a drinks reception at the Drumossie Hotel. Guests mingled as we cleared an area outdoors for the family photos.
It was a lovely day so outdoor photographs were a must. We positioned family and guests just outside the ceremony room. It’s always good to try and have a spot near to the venue for this part of the day. The benefit of this is that it’s easy to gather people and call them when it’s their turn. This reduces time wasted waiting for people allowing the happy couple to get on with their celebrations.
Jade and Donald’s couple photos
Once the formal family and group photos were done it was time to whisk Jade and Donald away from the madding crowds for some couple photos. With the sun shining we were able to choose plenty of locations within the grounds of the Drumossie Hotel.
