Surrounded by mature woodland and overlooking a grand lawn and manicured gardens is Culloden House Hotel. It has plenty going for it as a Scottish wedding venue.
Situated just minutes from the Highland capital of Inverness, Culloden House Hotel hosts weddings all year round. It is regarded as one of the best wedding locations in Scotland.
Wedding preparations at Culloden House
When I was chosen to do Iain & Nadia’s Culloden House Hotel wedding photography I was instantly blown away. The grand, old interiors of the bedrooms at the hotel and the manicured Garden are gorgeous.
The grooms room was spacious enough for him and his young son to get ready in.
The bride was lucky enough to be in a spacious apartment room where there was plenty space. I captured shots whilst Nadia had her makeup applied and enjoyed a glass of fizz or two with the ladies.
The wedding ceremony
It was a great day helped by the pleasant weather outside. For Scotland in November this was a very nice crisp day indeed.
When the time arrived for the wedding ceremony I positioned myself close to the front of the room. Here I could capture the entrance of the bride whilst still being able to capture the grooms reactions.

With the weather being so nice it was decided that we would capture the posed photos outside on the steps.
Once these were done I took Iain & Nadia for a stroll in the grounds. Here we got some lovely Autumnal shots of the newly married couple.
It was a chance to use the delightful gardens as colourful backdrops that the venue had on offer. With the colours on display I was able to capture a range of shots in different areas.
Reception & Evening Dances
As the wedding guests gathered for the start of the dances I was in position to capture their entrance.
The ceilidh band started up and before we knew it, the floor was full.
This continued until my departure once I had caught plenty images of Iain & Nadia and their guests dancing.
