Maria and Michael got in touch looking for a photographer to cover their Clava Mains Wedding Photography. It was my pleasure to assist and what a day it turned out to be.
Morning Wedding Preparations for the happy couple
I started off meeting Michael and his son Jacob at their house in Inverness for morning preparations. Marie was getting ready at Clava Mains so it was best to grab some photos of the groom initially. Michael and Jacob were accompanied by Marie’s brother who was there to cook breakfast and look after the lads ahead of the big day.
Marie’s preparations at Clava Mains
Marie decided to book rooms at Clava Mains for her morning preparations. Her Mother and Father were there along with Sister and Bridesmaids to help.
The obligatory glasses of fizz were being had as hair & make up juggled between the girls to get ready. We used the courtyard to get some photos of the girls once the dresses were on. The fields behind the wedding venue served well for giving the idea of being in the countryside.
Clava Mains Wedding Photography: The Ceremony
Finally it was time for the main event, the wedding ceremony at Clava Mains. Michael had arrived traditionally early and had to avoid seeing Marie. Meanwhile Marie and the girls were enjoying a final toast to the bride to be ahead of the bridal entrances.
Some final adjustments were being made by the lads in the ceremony room ahead of the girls arriving.
Marie was emotional as her Son saw her for the first time ahead of her entrance to the ceremony room. After some light wiping of tears Marie made her entrance following her bridesmaids.
Before we knew it the deed was done and Marie and Michael had tied the knot. The new Mr & Mrs McCourt exited the room to rapturous applause from the wedding guests.
Following the ceremony we ushered everyone out onto the courtyard for a group photo before starting on the family and friends photos.

Speeches at Clava Mains
As the day went on, it was soon time for everyone to congregate in the marquee for the speeches. As the sun began to set, laughter was echoing around Clava Mains as the speeches took place.
Time to hit the dancefloor
With everyone suitably fed and well watered it was time for the dances to begin. The wedding cake was cut and quickly wheeled away to allow Marie and Michael to take to the floor.
